fwdflow

fwdflow is a retail concept pitched to a Kansas City Innovation Incubator. The goal is to create positive future-focused goods and apparel for creative minded African American millennials. The products are centered around active optimism, motivation and celebrating black creative excellence. Inspiration was gathered from a variety of sources and my own personal aesthetics. Our motto is optimism always.

As co-founder and Creative Director, I wanted to showcase multiplicity and creativity I was seeing come alive within the Black community. In the midst of contiuned struggle for so many, person after person we spoke with during our concept validation beemed with optimism about thier future. Everyone we spoke to had a creative side hustle, from t-shirts, to photography and design, social media influencers, everyone saw the worl through a diverse, prismatic lense.

We received Seed funding to test the value proposition and overall viability. The concept was tested in Kansas City, MO, at SXSW in Austin, TX, at the Odunde Festival in Philadelphia, PA and at Afro Punk in Brooklyn, NY. The response from target audience was overwhelmingly enthusiastic and positive with concept appeal haloing out to a larger demographics than we initially assumed.
